Beware the Plastic Star
Ginny and Nina came to visit all the way from Brooklyn, and Tashi made use of her six months in age advantage. (You'll recall Tashi did the same thing to baby Quinn, whom Tashi has a three month advantage over. Eek! Hopefully we took the edge off by sending Ginny and Nina home with the gymini.) Otherwise we had a great visit with them both--they stayed all day, with the girls feeding and pooping and napping right on cue (more or less), and letting their mommies (mommas, mamas--we haven't quite figured out what to be called once they're verbal) catch up.
Interestingly to me, to encourage Nina to nap Ginny employed the same soothing methods Dara once did--picking up the baby in the car seat and bouncing it up and down or swinging it side to side, over and over, till baby fell asleep. Lifting the car seat like that will definitely build arm strength for when Nina gets Tashi-sized. Ginny had also discovered that rolling the car seat back and forth over a pen makes the seat bumpy enough to jostle Nina's head just the way she wants.
