The Girls at Number 96
I've long wanted to post a photo of Quinn and Tashi together, and this is even better--a video! Quinn is Tashi's building buddy and the daughter of Kelly and John who live downstairs. She was born nearly three months exactly after Tashi (February 6), which is a big difference now but someday they'll be in the same grade in school. Kelly works a half day at home on Fridays and sometimes we're lucky enough to hang out with her and Quinn in the afternoon. It's great because we're all right in the building--how easy can it get? Especially on a soupy day like today.
This morning the Friday playgroup convened in Inwood Hill Park, meeting outdoors for the first time. I figured out how our Chicco Keyfit 30 car seat goes up to 30 pounds--I removed some extra padding and Tashi fit in it better. We have to get a proper stroller though; wearing Tashi in the heat is getting harder especially as she gets bigger. I brought her to the office briefly Thursday afternoon via the Ergo, and rush hour subway + baby in Ergo = very sticky mom and baby.
Tashi food-o-meter: near misses with grass and dirt but otherwise strawberries, blueberries, a tiny bit of cupcake at daddy's office (!), mango, peas--still gagging, unless I combine it with sweet potato
Tashi sleep-o-meter: 2 hours in the a.m. (just when I thought this nap was shortening because it eventually transitions out), and 2 or so hours in the p.m. (since Tashi didn't talk to herself on awaking I'm not really sure when it ended--baby monitor didn't pick up her thumb-sucking contentedly in the crib)
